We recently visited Tre Ciccio, a new Italian eatery opened on Moss Lane, Altrincham. I had heard several good reports about this new restaurant – and it certainly didn’t disappoint.
On a somewhat dreary, wet and cold evening, my husband, Tony and I wondered into Altrincham, brollies at the ready and were welcomed at Tre Ciccio by our friendly warm host. We were shown downstairs, observing a fabulous pizza oven on the way and given a table close to the bar.
It was midweek, 7.30pm and the restaurant was already busy, and we spotted several familiar faces around the restaurant. Prior to our visit we had heard about the terrace area with a retractable roof and this looked a fabulous area in which to dine on a sunny day. Even on our visit, diners were enjoying this area, the roof however had to be closed but the fire more than compensated.
I enjoyed a lovely Aperol spritz (I was feeling summery!) and Tony a glass of Italian house wine which he said was excellent. We were off to a good start. Undoubtedly the menu specialises in a whole range of classic and gourmet pizzas and I couldn’t resist, opting for the vegetarian option, Pizza Ortolana with fried courgette and aubergine. Tony opted for one of the ‘Specials’ oven baked seabass which looked and as I understand tasted delicious. Tre Ciccio also offers a great choice of specialist chicken dishes wonderfully marinated.
We decided to spoil ourselves and indulge in a dessert too – they just looked so tempting! I had the well-known tiramisu, which was wonderful and Tony the ice cream in brioche. The coffee was excellent too.
The service was good and the staff friendly and knowledgeable. The dining area was welcoming with a lovely ‘Neapolitan’ atmosphere.
Will we return? Most definitely – maybe next time for brunch which looked fabulous too offering an Italian twist on an English theme. But dinner, yes, we will be back, maybe on a sunny day to enjoy the terrace area – ever optimistic!
